Ultradur High Speed

 

The New rheologically modified Ultradur® High Speed Is the first engineering plastic whose flowability has been significantly improved by the addition of nanoparticles. Ultradur® High Speed –created primarily for injection molding – reduces the injection pressures and the cycle times, thus achieving considerable cost benefits during processing.
 
Ultradur® High Speed is BASF’s particularly easy flowing PBT. A specially developed nanoparticle system has made it possible to significantly lower the melt viscosity of PBT ,resulting in a considerable improvement in the processing properties. Depending on the fiberglass content, Ultradur® High Speed flows at least twice as far as comparable standard Ultradur® grades (Figure1) The other characteristics of the material such as the mechanical properties of stiffness and strength, shrinkage behavior and thermal stability under heat are not affected by this modification.
