Structural Part Design

This seminar is offered to engineers and designers involved in the design of plastic components. The course provides an overview of basic part design considerations for a variety of components molded with thermoplastic resins. To effectively design a high quality plastic part, the designer/engineer must select an appropriate plastic material, develop a functional design, and work within the limitations of the manufacturing process. This seminar will explain some basic tools used in solving such complex issues as: stress, strain, stress concentrations, impact loading, moisture absorption, weld line locations and effects, variations in part size and thickness, creep.
